Use a measuring tape. Stand straight. Keep tape level and parallel to the floor.
- Waist Narrowest part of torso, above the navel.
- High Hip Fullest part of belly and upper hip, above the seat.
- Hip Fullest part of the seat, feet together.
- Bust Across fullest part of chest, tape flat and snug.
- Bicep Mid upper arm. Measure around the widest point.
Tip: Hold the tape firm, not tight. Breathe normally.

Sleeve comfort depends on the upper arm. A few millimetres too tight can restrict reach, create pulling at the armhole and cause discomfort. Grading sleeves using bicep data creates more inclusive sizing.

Research shows South Asians carry more abdominal weight at lower BMI levels. Waist circumference thresholds for health risk are lower for Indian women (80 cm). Building patterns around waist and high hip first creates balance and improves drape.
